Lakes and Waterfalls

From the mountainous in-land of Flores, several beautiful streams find their way downwards through waterfalls. Almost all waterfalls in Flores have spectacular views and are located in the rainforests of the island, including the Cunca Wulang waterfall. It takes you about 40 minutes to reach this waterfall by climbing and trekking, depending on your health. The entry fee for the Cunca Wulang Waterfall is 20,000 Rp per person and another 100,000 Rp for a guide, which is absolutely necessary.

Another beautiful waterfall also located near the city of Labuan Bajo is the Cunca Rami Waterfall. To reach this waterfall you must walk approximately 1,5 hours but you will pass beautiful untouched nature. Along the way, you will also pass villages, rice fields and fruit plantations. If you are up for an adventure, better come well prepared as there are no facilities located near this waterfall.

Back in 2001, a volcano near Bajawa erupted which left a big crater. That crater later filled up, turning into five small lakes. Due to the mineral content in the water, these lakes can also change colours like the Kelimutu lakes. Please bear in mind that this is not a developed tourist area, it might be very dangerous is you are not well-prepared.
