East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia is all set to receive delegates for the up-and-coming G-20 Summit, also known as the Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT), scheduled to take place in Labuan Bajo, Flores in 2023, ANTARA reports. NTT’s Governor, Viktor B. Laiskodat, said that the directive came from Indonesia’s President, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, to prepare the region until it is structurally ready to host the G-20 Summit.
“The President has given us the directive to finish all preparations. In general, we are ready to host G-20 Summit,” stated the Governor. Preparations will include the building of and the upgrading of infrastructure in main areas throughout the region. The Governor declares that he and his team in East Nusa Tenggara will work hard to prepare for the event.
“The location (of the Summit) has not been decided. It will be decided later,” added the Governor.
The Governor admitted that rubbish and plastic waste are some of the biggest problems in East Nusa Tenggara, and that more efforts will be undertaken to resolve the issues.
Indonesia’s President Mr Jokowi had also expressed his team’s goal which is to complete several end year projects regarding improvements of infrastructure in Labuan Bajo, waste management and the availability of clean water. The projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2020 when the Ministry of Tourism will begin massive promotional activities on Labuan Bajo.
