Timor, Flores’s neighbouring island to the south, is also home to some awe-inspiring natural attractions and one of these is Oetune Beach, in South Central Timor (TTS). It has been said that the beauty of Oetune’s Beach is incomparable to most. In addition to its soft and powdery sands, the waves here roll differently, and along the coastlines are a row of casuarinas trees that soar to about 8 metres in height.

Another unique factor about Oetune Beach is its very own “dessert” space about 100sqm in size. These days, this desert area is a popular Instagram location, with sand dunes that act as the perfect backdrop to a photograph, reminiscent of the sand dunes of the Middle East. The white sands and crystal clear blue waters and blue skies make for the perfect island setting.

Oetune Beach is located 115km away from Kupang City, about 3-hour’s drive from the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The best way to get here is to rent a car while you’re at Kupang City.  The beach is located just before the exit to Kolbano Beach.
