Pantar Marine Park – A Spectacular Underwater World
Located in the Alor Regency in East Nusa Tenggara, Pantar Marine Park is a haven for underwater world lovers. It is home to a plethora of amazing fish species and other sea creatures that live in the park’s caves and seabeds. It is said that the beauty of the underwater world at Pantar Marine Park is comparable to some of the world’s most popular marine areas such as the Caribbean or Raja Ampat in Papua thanks to its location and water temperatures.
Pantar Marine Park covers areas over Alor Besar, Alor Kecil, Dulolong, Buaya Island, Kepa Island, Ternate Island, and Pura Island – these islands are part of the 92 officially listed outlying islands of Indonesia located to the east of Flores. There are 26 unique spots for diving and snorkelling featuring the most exotic underwater panorama. You could even get up close to a shark! Night diving is also popular here for the more advanced divers.
Aside to snorkelling and diving, you could partake in a village tour and get to know the locals and their way of life.
– The ocean here is safe for divers from October to November
– Be prepared for long journeys to reach the Alor Regency
– Pack all essentials, medication and equipment as you won’t be able to buy them if you’re out!
