Oetune Beach is located in Oebelo, Amanuban Selatan, Timor Tengah Selatan District, NTT. The beauty offered by Oetune Beach is very different compared to other beaches. In addition to the soft white sand, Oetune Beach also has a very unique wave patterns. Along the coastline Cassowary trees grow strong and tall.
Not far from the beach is a stretch of desert covering an area of up to 100-square meters. It is located along the coast, and is very much like the deserts found in the Middle East. This stretch of desert is very popular among visitors and is also one of the island’s most Instagrammable spots.
Located about 115 km from the city of Kupang, it takes about 2.5-3 hours to get to Oetune. You can simply rent a car in Kupang City or hire a private car with a driver to get to the beach location. You’ll have to pay IDR 3,000 to enter and IDR 1,000 for parking.
Around the location, there are already a number of supporting facilities for visitors such as the Lopo (a typical house for Timor Island residents) with 7-9 lopo and 1 main lopo in the center, which can be used as a place to relax. There are also toilets and rinse rooms, which can be used by visitors to bathe and rinse after playing on the beach. Around the beach, there are also several small stalls selling snacks and soft drinks. Please remember to bin your litter or take your trash back with you and keep Indonesia clean!
