Liwu Legur Waterfall

Liwu Legur Waterfall

Another beautiful waterfall located in Manggarai is the Liwu Legur, near Hale Village. This entire experience would assure that you climb rocks, trek through amazing sceneries and get wet in the river on the way to the waterfall. It takes two and a half hour to the waterfall from Hale Village; the trek itself should be relatively easy but when you see the waterfall in the distance, you will need to climb down a few big rocks using only a rope – which you need to bring yourself.

As you can see, this trip is not for beginners as there is a lot of climbing involved. You’ll also need to walk through a river that is filled with boulders and freshwater shrimps before arriving at the Liwu Legur Waterfall. After such an arduous trip, you can now jump in and enjoy the cool, clear water! After some moments of relaxation, be prepared to climb up the rocks for your return journey to Hale Village.

Travel Tips

– The roads leading here are winding and steep; be careful

– A local guide is necessary or you will definitely get lost
