Bou Sama Sama
Bou Sama Sama is a weaving cooperative in Ndona, founded in 2004. The women from this cooperative weave the most amazing Lionese Ikat.
Nowadays the cooperative has 17 weavers, headed by Ibu Maria Angelina. This working group produce a well-known, natural dye Ikat. They create a distinct reddish dye from the Morinda tree
The Ikat that they produce is vied for by Ikat aficionados and sold by collectors all over the world. The beauty of Ndona is that it’s not as touristic as the other Ikat weaving villages in Ende. Here you will find a relaxed atmosphere where you can pick and choose your piece of Ikat weaved clothing in peace.
