Travellers planning to visit Labuan Bajo, Flores from Denpasar, Bali can now opt to fly there with AirAsia Indonesia at competitive rates starting from as low as Rp 1.8 million return. As of 1st August 2019, AirAsia now flies to Labuan Bajo, the gateway to the Komodo National Park 7 times per week.
The carrier’s inaugural flight to Labuan Bajo with the Airbus A320 carried a full plane with 144 passengers on board. Crew members and passengers received an extraordinarily warm welcome from the Regent of West Manggarai, Agustinus Ch. Dula who was present along with Vice Regent, Maria Geong as they welcomed the arrival of the aeroplane and its passengers at the Komodo International Airport. The Regent and Vice Regent were met by AirAsia Indonesia’s Head of Indonesian Affairs and Policy, Eddy Krismeidi Soemawilaga and the Head of Airport and Regulatory Affairs, Richard Hendrikus Kalumata.
The Regent said, AirAsia’s new route from Denpasar, Bali-Labuan Bajo, Flores will greatly support the growth of West Manggarai’s tourism industry.
“AirAsia’s arrival here to Labuan Bajo came at the right time, amidst the influx of tourists who are visiting and planning to visit Labuan Bajo and the Komodo National Park. AirAsia’s presence here will support the district in its role as a Super Priority Tourism Destination,” said the Regent.
AirAsia Indonesia’s Head of Indonesian Affairs and Policy, Eddy Krismeidi Soemawilaga said that response to the Denpasar, Bali-Labuan Bajo, Flores flights have been positively overwhelming with all 180 seats filled for both departing and returning flights.
AirAsia Indonesia will fly to Labuan Bajo from Denpasar once a day, every day.
